They offer a completely different approach to supporting overhanging areas. These support structures are made up of branches that grow from the sides and automatically get denser beneath parts that need support. Prusa's organic support are based on the new algorithm (by u/Thomas_Rahm), but they improve it a bit further by making the branches smoother and rounder for stability (which is what makes them "organic"). So Prusa 2.6 and Cura 5.4 will be based on the same algorithm with only minor differences for most usecases imo. It came out fine but the supports were a pain in the ass to remove, and had to be cut and sanded just to look slightly decent. I assumed that was just how it was and did not bother trying again.
