It's hard to bring mage switch simply because bofa does so well on green snake already and you don't know rotation until the second or third snake. Bowfa is a long enough grind without making it 10x longer with deaths and slow clears. Maybe greenlog Perilous Moons, do slayer until trident, then TOA for Fang. Ruby bolts can somewhat make up for the mediocrity of RCB in TOA, while Sunlight Crossbow or Atlatl are good in places like zulrah and shamans where ruby bolts don't carry so much weight.

The main useful drop from zulrah is the magic fang which is useless unless you have the trident anyway. There aren't a whole lot of early/mid game reasons to use a blowpipe, especially if you have (or are planning to get) a bowfa. The main uses are for jad, demonics, and shamans.
